Receipt Lottery in Taiwan

It’s time once again for the Receipt Lottery in Taiwan. The government set up this lottery to encourage people to request receipts from retailers. Every two months, the government publishes a list of numbers, and if the number on your receipt matches any of these numbers, you win money. If the last three numbers match, you win NT$200 (about US$6). The grand prize is two million NT. I’m not sure if anyone has ever won the grand prize. The most I’ve won was NT$4,000. Lately, though, I never win anything. I went through all of my receipts for the past two months (the pile you see here), and I won nothing. Sigh.
